From the President's corner by Chuck Jackson, President Posted September 1, 2006 Hello to all my brothers and sisters. Reflecting back on the past three months of being president, I'm truly pleased with what is taking place at the union hall as far as more members being involved in attending the monthly meetings. It shows that we are a body that cares about what happens to us as Local 1219 members. Local 1219 Executive Board and JUM members want to let our brothers and sisters know that we are here for you. I also believe that we have an excellent Grievance committee that should be utilized at all times. I believe that we can make a difference if we come together and strive for the things we believe in. So in the future, if you see us in the plant and have any questions or concerns, please don't wait to get them addressed. Also, stop by the hall if your job prevents you from doing it in the plant, it would be appreciated. In closing, I would like to say keep it safe out there, and remember, let's all make a difference together. ----------------------------------- About the website by Joe Reed, Recording Secretary Posted September 1, 2006 Welcome to the USW Local 1219 Web page. This site is dedicated to providing information about our union local while soliciting and receiving feedback from its members. We hope that it will be a useful resource in the development of a strong, united, and informed membership. You will have the ability to contact the officers and members of the various committees by e-mail with any questions or concerns that you may have. You can also have your thoughts presented to the entire local by e-mailing me at joereed6453@hotmail.com. We will not allow any letters to be posted at the site and that defame your union brothers or sisters or any member of management by name. We also will print your name with your letter. That being said all other correspondence will be posted. A web page is a living thing that can grow and change over time. The direction of the growth and or pruning of this site will be up to you. Those things that prove useful will be expanded. Those things that are not will be removed. Visit the page from time to time and help it become something that we can all be proud of. ----------------------------------- |
